Our Dry Shampoo Scored 100/100 on Yuka — Here’s What That Means

Posted by Michelle Kim on

When we created the Day After™ Brush, we wanted to rethink dry shampoo from the ground up.

That meant moving away from aerosol sprays, complicated ingredient lists, and formulas that can leave you wondering what you're putting on your hair and scalp.

So when we scanned the Day After Brush on Yuka and saw a score of 100/100, we were pretty excited.

A perfect score — from an independent source.

What Is Yuka?

Yuka is an independent app that allows consumers to scan food and personal-care products and better understand what's inside them.

For cosmetics and personal-care products, Yuka analyzes the ingredients in a formula and evaluates their potential health impacts.

Products are then given a score out of 100.

And the Day After Brush received 100/100: Excellent.

For us, the rating is especially meaningful because it isn't a score we created or a marketing claim we assigned ourselves. It's an independent evaluation of the formula we spent years developing.

What's Inside Our Dry Shampoo?

Just three ingredients:

Colloidal Oatmeal
A finely milled form of oatmeal commonly used in gentle personal-care products.

Arrowroot Powder
A lightweight, plant-derived powder that helps absorb excess oil.

Silica
Helps absorb oil and gives the powder its lightweight texture.

That's it.

No parabens. No sulfates. No phthalates.

And because the Day After Brush is a powder delivered through a reusable brush rather than an aerosol spray, there's no need for aerosol propellants.

Why We Made Dry Shampoo Differently

Traditional dry shampoo has typically come in one format: an aerosol can.

We wanted another option.

The Day After Brush combines dry shampoo powder with a patented brush applicator so you can apply the formula directly where your hair gets oily instead of spraying a cloud of product around your head.

Press the button to release the powder into the bristles, brush it through oily areas, and keep going with your day.

The applicator is reusable and designed to be refilled, so when your powder runs out, you replace the powder — not the entire brush.

It's dry shampoo designed to be part of your routine for years, rather than another can destined for the trash.

What Does a 100/100 Yuka Rating Mean?

Yuka's rating gives consumers another way to evaluate the ingredients in the products they use.

For the Day After Brush, that evaluation resulted in the highest possible score: 100 out of 100.

We're proud of that score, but we're even prouder of what made it possible: keeping the formula incredibly simple.

Three ingredients.

A non-aerosol delivery system.

A refillable applicator.

And a dry shampoo that does exactly what we created it to do: absorb oil and extend your hair between washes without overcomplicating your routine.

Clean Hair. Three Ingredients. Perfect Score.

You shouldn't need a chemistry degree to understand what's inside your dry shampoo.

The Day After Brush was designed around a simple idea: use fewer ingredients, apply them exactly where they're needed, and create less waste in the process.

Now it has a 100/100 Yuka rating to go with it.
